This study is designed to introduce the student to the rich tradition of writing inspired by New York City.  Studying diaries, memoirs, journals, poems, articles, essays, letters, short stories, and excerpts from novels and plays, the student gains a new understanding and appreciation for the history and culture of the city and its residents.
